C.R. Avery & The East Van Abbey Cabaret
C.R. Avery brings his long-running East Van Abbey Cabaret to Whistler for the first time. Featuring his house band, the Storm Collective, along with a host of talented artists delivering everything from rock ‘n’ roll and boogie blues to spoken word, performance art, comedy and dance. It’s an eclectic, high energy night in a cabaret setting at The Point. The East Van Abbey Cabaret has been drawing monthly Vancouver audiences for years, and The Point is excited to finally bring it to Whistler.

Welcome to the 14th Annual Flag Stop Theatre & Arts Festival! We’ve once again pulled together an incredible array of talented actors, comedians, playwrights, musicians and dancers to entertain you for three spectacular summer nights.
From the premiere of stage play The Conversation along with Laugh Out Live! comedy on the floating stage, to live bands The History of Gunpowder and Mivule inside the Point Lodge, to festival favourites Balkan Shmalkan, along with The West Coast Front, Pemberton country rockers Dakota Pearl and ALGN Whistler Dance at Florence Petersen Park.

Flag Stop Festival at Florence Petersen Park - Evening
The Flag Stop Festival kicks off on Wednesday, August 6 at 6PM in Whistler Village at the intimate Florence Petersen Park behind the library and museum for a night of live music, movement and dance. Vinyl Ritchie lays down the beats from 6PM before festival favourites 10-piece brass party band Balkan Shmalkan march in from the stroll to set the park alight. Dancers from ALGN Whistler string the whole night together with interactive performances between bands. Five piece ska, reggae, rock outfit The West Coast Front keeps the party going from 8PM, with Pemberton’s popular country rockers Dakota Pearl headlining the night from 9-10PM.
Admission is By Donation.

10th Annual Winter Carnival at The Point
From 12-4PM, enjoy all-ages activities including snow sculpting and ice dancing competitions, DJ Ira Dance Party (1PM), curling and shinny (ice permitting), costumed characters, live campfire music from Greg Kelly and Thomas Studer, tickle trunk with winter costumes (or bring your own), and scrumptious lunch and hot and cold drinks available from the Cypress Point Café and Harrop’s Bar. What a great way to spend BC Family Day!
10th Annual Winter Carnival at The Point
The Winter Carnival at The Point is a community celebration featuring live music, dinner and dancing, and a host of free afternoon activities celebrating winter through the lens of the arts.
The evening dinner show on Sunday, February 16 presents East Vancouver’s Petunia & The Vipers, a hillbilly-flavoured swing-inflected ragtime-goodtime!
The evening also includes a Comedy & Winter Art Auction by Laugh Out Live!, dinner, dancing, and a cash bar.
Doors at 6PM with Dinner Tickets, 7PM for Show Only Tickets.
Polka & Pilsner!
Get ready to dance, dine, and delight in a night of Czech culture! After the incredible success of our 2019 event, Polka & Pilsner returns to The Point Artist-Run Centre at 6pm on Friday, November 15th, 2024. We’ve teamed up with the Czech community and the Multicultural Society to bring you an evening full of lively polka music, dance, and authentic Czech food.

Fresh off the heels of the Flag Stop Theatre & Arts Festival in Whistler, the Point Artist-Run Centre brings two new plays to the beautiful Heritage Playhouse in Gibsons, BC. Comedy meets technology as playwrights Alan Forsythe and Stephen Vogler delve into the shaky ground of crypto currency and AI.

Flag Stop Festival at Florence Petersen Park - Evening
The evening begins at 6PM with a welcome ceremony from the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Ambassadors. The beer and wine garden and food vendors are open as DJ Vinyl Ritchie heats up the park with his eclectic 45s. Vancouver writer and theatre artist Cecilia O’Day delivers a preview of her one-woman Fringe monologue Young Widow, and Brandon Barrett returns from Victoria with his latest stand-up offering. Then Comedian Sarah Carson Ford returns to her hometown with a comedy set honed in New York.
Vancouver’s sweet dance party orchestra Balkan Shmalkan will get everybody moving on the grass, and the night wraps up with stellar hometown rockers Introduce Wolves.
