The Chair Series

The Point Artist-Run Centre is exciting to have The Chair Series back at the lodge! Written and directed by Vancouver playwright John McGie, The Chair Series is theatre at its most fundamental level. There are no large props, costumes or elaborate sets. The only prop is a chair for each actor and some sound to augment the story. The actors rely solely on their craft and the script that McGie has written specifically for each player. The pieces stand on their own, but also flow into one another to create an overall arc to the show. The performance at The Point on Saturday, November 22nd and  will feature actors from the Sea to Sky.

"$100 and Under!" Art Exhibition for Whistler's 50th

In celebration of Whistler’s 50th anniversary, The Point Artist-Run Centre (PARC) invites the community to a special fundraising exhibition: “$100 and Under!” — an eclectic and affordable showcase of local creative talent that reflects on the past 50 years and imagines the next 50.  Opening September 20th, the show will feature original works of art — from paintings and photography to ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, and mixed media — all priced at $100 or less. This is your chance to take home a piece of local culture while supporting The Point. Artists will choose to donate 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% of their sales to help sustain The Point’s creative programming. The show will run from September 11 to October 29, with an opening reception and sales night on October 4th.
