PARC Artist Residency:
Program & Application

The Point Artist-Run Centre (PARC) is re-opening the Artist Residency program in 2025. Artists working in various disciplines can apply for a 4-week residency at the beautifully restored heritage cabin on the shore of Alta Lake adjacent to the Point Lodge. The goal is to be able to provide the artist time, space and resources to explore and focus on their craft. Also, providing some sort of community enrichment through their work.

Who: The program is open to emerging and professional artists, practicing in various artistic disciplines.

What: A project based residency that offers the artist free accommodation at the cabin  for the duration of the residency. We will also provide an honorarium of $500 for living expenses. The artist will also offer a small community project related to their artistic practice during their residency. Some examples might include a workshop, seminar, exhibit, screening, or donation of work for a fundraiser. We are open to ideas!

When: We are offering three separate 4-week stays from January to May.

Where: The Point Artist Run Centre is located at 5678 Alta Lake Rd, Whistler, BC V8E 0C3. We are accessible by car & bike (hopefully transit bus soon). There is a parking lot with a set of 70 stairs leading down to the lakeside cabin (Please note the cabin is not wheelchair accessible). Expect winter conditions throughout the stay, which could include snow shoveling.

Why: PARC’s mission is to cultivate an affordable, vibrant and creative environment that incubates authentic artistic activity for artists to create, perform, learn and interact with the community through their work.

Please reach out if you have any questions including inquiries about possible ideas about the community project or resources needed. Let’s collaborate!
