Kids Summer Camp: Into the Groove Band Camp with Papa Josh (ages 9-13)
A fun, active way for students of any instrument to play in a band, develop their sense of rhythm and deepen their understanding of music. From rock and swing to funk, hip-hop and more with acclaimed musician and instructor Papa Josh Suhrheinrich.
Beginner to intermediate, minimum six months of instrumental experience.

Learn to play different instruments, sing with others, create songs and theatre plays with music, and perform! Aude Ray's acclaimed Expressive Arts Camp adapted for young musicians and artists.

The Art of Beat-Box with Artist-in-Residence C.R. Avery
We’ll give a brief history of the beat-box and where it fits in hip-hop & folk music’s story. We’ll work on basics a cappella and then on the mic. Boom!

We’ll be starting with the craft of unsung lyrics and how they differ from the written word that sleeps on the page. Then we’ll dive into the gentle dance of taking these skeleton ideas of words and finding there high wire melodies & crossroad chords that have been patiently waiting for an eternity at the train station of song. Bam!
